Yet, with how taboo we make talking about money, with all the shame and guilt that so often surrounds the subject, some people (maybe most?) aren’t able to talk openly about their finances with anyone. Not their parents or their friends or coworkers. Sometimes not even their spouse.
And that silence is absolutely brutal. It only makes the shame and the fear and the feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy grow stronger.
It’s impossible to improve your financial situation if you can’t talk about it.
That’s why we do everything we can to make it easier. Because we know if we can get the conversation started, that we can begin to make progress.
Talking can lead to gaining a new perspective and seeing your situation differently, which can lead to taking different actions and forming new habits.
And all of a sudden, you’re moving in the right direction, and it doesn’t feel so scary any more, and you realize there’s no reason to be ashamed, and you start to feel like things really can get better.
That’s why conversation is so essential to what we do. That’s why we take pride in being easy to talk to.
Because it matters.
